The 7th Africa Engineering Conference & 5th Africa Engineering Week

The Ghana Institution of Engineering in collaboration with the Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO), World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO) and UNESCO will be hosting the 7th edition of the UNESCO Africa Engineering Week and the 5th Africa Engineering Conference to be held at the Accra Marriott Hotel in Accra, Ghana, from October 4-8, 2021.

The theme for the conference is “Engineering Inter-African Trade and the Sustainable Development Goals”.  The sub-themes for the conference include:

  • Goods and Services

  • Capacity Building for Trade

  • Trade Integration and Interconnectivity

  • Women and Young Entrepreneurs in Trade

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution and Infrastructure

  • Intellectual Property Right in Engineering and Trade Facilitation

The 7th edition of the UNESCO Africa Engineering Week and the 5th Africa Engineering Conference is expected to attract participants from the African region.  The conference will also provide a platform for academics, engineering practitioners, industry players and students to meet and connect, share ideas and experiences to build knowledge and upskill.

ABOUT FAEO

In order to achieve engineering excellence and create a better quality of life for all in Africa; leaders and representatives of engineering institutions in Africa held a General Assembly on 8th May, 2012 at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi, Kenya and unanimously agreed to establish a central united home for African Engineering Organisations in solidarity under the name Federation of African Engineering Organisations, FAEO. The constitution of the Federation of African Organisations of Engineers, FAOE founded in 1972 and representing Africa as International Member of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO) since 1989 was amended under a new name known as Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO).

The FAEO constitution was unanimously accepted and adopted to take effect from 8th May, 2012.
